I am a photographer and doula, in addition to the many hats I juggle. My home is brimming with beautiful chaos between my two young kids, two tireless dogs, and one very loud cat. When I’m not editing or doing dishes and laundry, you can find me with my hands in the soil of my garden planting flowers and vegetables, or propagating houseplants. Sometimes the stars align and I explore new trails with my people for an overnighter. And on other days when the sky is shrouded in clouds and the rain falls heavy (BC, right?), I’ll be curled up inside with a steaming mug of tea and an enthralling book.
I was propelled into birth work following my first son’s birth. Ryker was born after a long and emotional induction at BC Women’s Hospital, and was only with us for 3 fleeting days. He took his final breath in my arms, as the sun shone down on us on a warm July afternoon. I will never forget how I was supported, respected, and empowered through Ryker’s birth because it made every difference in my world. Our journey together, and my transformation into motherhood was transcendental. I am committed to supporting other families and birthing people as they experience their own empowering birthing journeys.
Capturing pieces of folks’ lives is another slice of joy in my life. I love to preserve memories and tell stories, and I am continually honoured by the people who welcome me into their spaces to witness their magic. I believe that joy comes to us by celebrating the everyday, in the midst of the chaos. There is endless beauty in the ordinary, and I’d love to document you living your beautiful life.
Thank you for exploring this little slice of the internet, and I look forward to connecting with you. – Xo
